Health NewsFood Craving SolutionDo the 4-7-8 Breath Technique: This exercise is easy and requires very little time and no equipment. Sit upright with your back straight. Place the tip of your tongue against the ridge of tissue just behind your upper front teeth, and keep it there throughout the entire exercise. Close your mouth and then quietly inhale through your nose to a mental count of four. Next, hold your breath for a count of seven. Exhale completely through your mouth, while making a whoosh sound, for a count of eight. This is one breath. Now inhale again and repeat the cycle three times for a total of four breaths. Use this exercise whenever you are yearning for a certain type of food, and those urges should become increasingly less frequent. (self healing, June 2007)
